Start the day with a refreshing nice cream bowl packed with flavors and micronutrients. Strawberries are a rich source of antioxidants and offer many health benefits, especially for women*. Almond butter and hemp seeds are added for creaminess, while also boosting protein, omega-3, vitamin E, and calcium content. I chose two toppings on hand for this recipe: raspberries and pumpkin seeds. Raspberries are also a rich source of antioxidants, fibers, and vitamin C, which, among other benefits, support skin health. Pumpkin seeds are a rich source of iron. Depending on the season, your pantry, and cravings, you can use as many toppings as you wish. If your frozen fruits are not sweet enough, blend them with maple syrup or a sweetener of your choice.
* An in-vitro study showed an extract from strawberries inhibited breast and cervical cancer cells. Another study found that an extract from the same fruits could induce the death of uterine fibroid cells and reduce their production of scar-like (fibrous) tissue.

Note
- This recipe can be made with other frozen fruits like pineapples, pitayas, papayas, mixed berries, and mangoes.
- You can add or omit protein or collagen powder to meet your specific nutritional needs. You can also add other powders or supplements into the recipe (e.g. chlorella, moringa, barley grass etc.)
- Some frozen berry brands are more sour than others. Be sure to taste your nice cream before serving. If it's too sour add 1 tablespoon of maple syrup or another sweetener of your choice.
- For bananas, slice and freeze them ahead of time (at least 6 hours). You can do the same with fresh strawberries.
