Prepare the tofu:

  1. Cube (or slice into small slabs) and freeze tofu overnight in a ziplock bag.

  2. Alternatively, soak in boiling water for 5 minutes, drain, and squeeze out excess liquid.

Make the marinade:

  1. Add miso paste, spices, nutritional yeast, and flour to a mixing bowl.
  2. Slowly add warm water and whisk until smooth.

Marinate:

  1. Add the tofu into the bowl and coat them well.
  2. Marinate for 10–20 minutes.

Air fry or bake:

  1. Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper.
  2. Air fry at 160°C/320°for 25 minutes, flipping halfway.
  3. Or bake in the oven (adjust time and temperature based on your appliance).
