Skip the supermarket hummus and make fresh batches at home when you have time. It’s simple, filling, and packed with protein. Enjoy hummus with a variety of dishes or simply spread over toast. You can top it with with paprika, toasted sesame seeds, hemp seeds, or a drizzle of olive oil.

Instructions

  1. Blend the base:

    In a food processor, combine the chopped garlic, lemon juice, water, cumin, salt, tahini, and olive oil (if using). Process until completely smooth and creamy.
  1. Add chickpeas:

    Add the cooked chickpeas and continue blending. Pause to scrape down the sides as needed.
  1. Adjust texture:

    Keep processing until you reach a smooth, silky consistency. Add a splash more water if it feels too thick.
  1. Serve and enjoy

     Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Note

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for 3–4 days.
